Songwriters Original Showcase (tm) (S.O.S.) Features Colleen McFarland on Sunday, February 24, 2002, 7-10PM

February 6, 2002, Ambler, PA --
Songwriters Original Showcase(tm) (S.O.S.) will feature Colleen McFarland and Aaron Snow, on Sunday, February 24, 2002, 7 PM, at the Act II Playhouse, 56 E. Butler Pike, Ambler, PA. Now in its second year, S.O.S. is a one-of-a-kind venue in the Philadelphia area that showcases top regional and national independent recording artists and songwriters.

Recently showcasing at The Bluebird Cafe in Nashville, McFarland performs frequently at top Philadelphia area music venues including the Tin Angel and The Point, as well as at music festivals and conferences around the Eastcoast and Midwest. Her latest CD, "Three Miles From Odessa," has already received considerable airplay throughout the region and nationally, including WXPN where Colleen has been a featured guest on the Women's Music Hour with Michaela Mojoun and on the Gene Shay folk show.

Aaron Snow returns to S.O.S. for a second performance with songs from his new release "This Year's Demo". Aaron has been described as "dynamic and passionate", "terrific and inspiring," and "a top-shelf songwriter." From Cleveland to Philadelphia to New York York, he has performed nationally (Boston, Chicago, St. Louis, Seattle) and at major regional songwriting venues including The Point. He has appeared on the Gene Shay folk show (WXPN, Philadelphia); and most recently has performed at New York City venues including Sun Music Company and PostCrypt.

Other artists performing that evening include DENZIEN, with recording artists and S.O.S. co-founders Rick Denzien and Debra Lee. With three CDs to his credit, Rick Denzien's latest CD Exit 21 was twice part of the Grammy process, and he is one of the most heavily downloaded artists as tracked on the World Music and mpulse.com. With "catchy melodic hooks and ingeniously structured lyrics {that} work on a cerebral as well as visceral level," Denzien's music has gained the respect and ear of both peers and fans, and has received considerable airplay countrywide. Joined by Debra Lee on keyboard and vocals, she is a featured songwriter with performance and recording credits prior to teaming up with DENZIEN. Their next CD features her voice and style hailed as "beautiful ... uniquely original."

S.O.S. offers fans of original music a premier listening venue in a professionally staged performance theater.

Tickets are available in advance on-line at www.slot-1.com/sos, or at the box office on the night of the show. Tickets are $15.
