Blessed with a beautiful and powerful voice, Christine
Winchester has been singing all her life; select school choruses, solos in
church choir, and in many roles on the dramatic stage. Her nine years of
piano training have
proved invaluable to teaching herself guitar and writing songs in many
styles: pop, rock, folk, blues and country. Her material explores issues
ranging from urban decay to physical abuse to love lost and found – with
emotional power and relevance to today's challenges. Accompanying herself on
guitar and keyboards, Christine has performed solo, with husband David C.
Perry (in the duo Winchester Perry) and most recently
with Steve Pritz (as the Fabulous Philly Unknowns). For ten years, she
headed up PASA, the Philadelphia Area Songwriters Alliance, serving as the
group's coordinator and newsletter editor. Christine is a three-time winner
of The Folk Factory Coffeehouse "People's Choice" Award, and her
music has been
played on local radio stations WXPN and WHYY and been featured on several
compilation albums. She continues to write songs and hopes to complete a CD
recording project this year.
